The Planet has a circulation of 9,000. That's how many copies we print and distribute, not some calculation based on 3 or 4 readers per copy. We can't prove the statistics used by many papers so we will let you make your own decision on that.

Our Advertising rates are about half what other free distribution papers charge and less than 1/4 of what the Salem News Charges. Your bang for the buck goes further with the Planet!! Click here to see some of our distribution points throughout the North Shore.

Who reads the Planet? Can't really prove that either. We know that the Village Restaurant in Essex appeals to the gray hair set, we know we distribute 300 copies there. We know that Henry's Market in Beverly appeals the the wealthier residents of not only Beverly but surrounding towns. We know we distribute 500 copies there. We know that the people that ride the train out of Salem probably have good paying jobs in Boston. We know that we distribute 500 copies there. Are they female, 25-35 with two kids and an Infinity in the driveway? We haven't a clue, but we do get letters and emails from people that sound like they might be. Do teenagers read our paper? Once again no clue, but we get responses to our "name that car" that are written in crayon so probably! What we hope and believe is that we reach a broad section of the available audience on the North Shore, and people that read it once can't wait to read it again!!
